The Green Bay Packers are now down to just one open spot on their 90-man roster.On Tuesday afternoon, the Packers announced the signing of safety Marwin Evans, an undrafted rookie out of Utah State. Evans' deal allows him to rejoin his former teammates Kyler Fackrell, the Packers' third-round pick, and Devonte Robinson, an undrafted free agent signing. Both of those two players also played college football for the Aggies. Evans had an impressive performance at Utah State's Pro Day. , and posted a 42-inch vertical jump.He also posted impressive production as a senior in Logan. He played in 13 games and recorded 73 total tackles . He also posted one interception - which he returned 90 yards for a touchdown - as well as ten tackles for loss, two sacks, six passes defended, and a pair of forced fumbles. He played one year there and another season at Highland Community College in Kansas, then made the move to Utah State as a three-star junior college recruit.It was initially reported that Evans would sign an undrafted free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks immediately after the 2016 NFL Draft, but he ended up participating in their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis instead and was not offered a contract. He now becomes the 89th player on the Packers' 90-man roster.
